All of the subscription databases we offer in a handy alphabetical list. If you already know which database you need, this is the easiest way to find it. Access to these subscription databases are provided as a free service to Arapahoe Library District patrons.

Adult Learning Center

Audience: Adults
Content: Live academic tutoring, writing assistance, test center, 24/7 question center, and foreign language and ESL lab. Learn more.

Ancestry Library Edition

Audience: Anyone interested in genealogy research.
Content: Included are records from the U.K. and United States. Access census; military records; court, land, and probate records; vital and church records; passenger lists and more.
Limitations: This database is only available from computers in our libraries.

There are limitations to the number of times the Share function can be accessed from any one e-mail address. The best way for users to get information from the database to personal files is either to print the document, save it onto a CD, floppy, or jump drive, or copy and paste the documents into a Word document and then send the Word doc in an email.

Auto Repair Reference Center

Audience: Those needing car repair information.
Content: Car repair, service bulletins and repairs.

Biography Resource Center

Audience: Anyone seeking biographical information.

Business Source Premier (EBSCO)

Audience: Those seeking information about business, management or companies.

CultureGrams Kids Edition

Audience: Intended for the elementary aged.
Content: Info about 89 different countries. History, customs and the way of life of people all over the world is just a click away.

EBSCO Animals

Audience: For anyone who needs to know more about animals.
Content: This resource provides thousands of easy-to-read entries about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. Each entry begins with a simple category breakdown of the animal including Kingdom, Class, Order, Genus & Species, and Geographical Locale as well as a detailed description. Many entries include colorful images.

EBSCO GreenFILE

Audience:: For those concerned about the environment.
Content: EBSCO's GreenFILE offers a unique perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the ecology. Grzimek's Animal Life

Audience:For anyone who is looking for information about animals.
Content: Animal information with videos, illustrations, videos and maps can be found in this resource which covers thousands of species.

HeritageQuest Online

Audience: For those conducting genealogy research.
Content: Census data, family records and local histories dating back to the 1700's. This collection assembles every U.S. federal census in existence, banking and military records, genealogies, local histories, primary source materials, and genealogical and local history serials.

Learning Express Library

Audience: Students from elementary to adult.
Content:Take practice tests and get help building skills in math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary. Other practice tests include GED, SAT, ACT, teacher certification, law enforcement, & U.S. Citizenship exams. Find invaluable career resources for job search skills, resume-building, and career certification. Requires a free registration so that you can review and track your progress and scores on exams. Literature Resource Center

Morningstar Investment Research Center

Audience: Anyone interested in financial analysis.
Content: Stock, fund, industry and ETF information for in-depth research and smart portfolio construction. It is a one-stop-shop for screening and report building tools including extensive help and education materials. Be sure to read Moningstar's article on How to Manage Your Financial Risk (PDF).

Newspaper Source

Audience: For anyone seeking newspaper information.
Content: Provides cover-to-cover full text for 23 national U.S. and international newspapers, selected full text from hundreds of regional U.S. newspapers, full text television & radio news transcripts are provided from major news networks and NPR.

Audience: For fiction readers.

Optimal Resume

Audience: For anyone who is experiencing the job search process or wants to update his resume.
Content: Set yourself apart from the typical job applicant by creating a marketing presentation of your skills and abilities. Build your resume, find sample letters, undergo the skills assessment, conduct practice interviews in which you can incorporate audio and/or video and create a video resume!

Regional Business News

Content: This current events database allows researchers to explore social, political & economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in today’s classrooms.

TumbleBook Library

Audience: A great site for kids K- 4!
Content: Interactive, animated stories, puzzles and games. There are stories by well-known authors, original stories, classic fairy tales, puzzles and games in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Some bilingual stories are also available. You can have stories play automatically, or click through at your own pace. Most users will not need to log in, but if you see a login screen, enter the username arapahoe and the password libra.

Wall Street Journal (Proquest)

Audience: For anyone seeking newspaper information.
Content: Fulltext access to the Wall Street Journal can be found in this resource.

WorldCat

Audience: All researchers.
Content: WorldCat lets you find an item of interest and then locate a library near you that owns it thanks to the efforts of more than 10,000 libraries worldwide.

Worldbook Online Reference Center

Audience: For anyone who needs encyclopedia information.
Content: The online edition of World Book contains every article in the 22-volume print version of the encyclopedia, plus thousands more that are only available online. Includes related articles from major newspapers and magazines, graphic and multimedia content, special reports, and more.
